It's just the start. The first song ,Star City. There are lot of dynamics and it's goes smooth while all the members played their roles and they co operate with each other so well. After the first song the leader of the band introduce the band members to us. It was the first time they came to perform in Malaysia and KBU got the privilege to host them.

The members broke into individual roles and played their own solo. It's awesome! Their rhythm and beat goes in, oh gosh it's just so right! The drummer some time goes smooth some time goes crazy , it could be seen that he is excited too. The Saxophonist made all of us go crazy. Sometime he came in softly while sometime he came with the high pitch sound, I know it's just not easy to play like that, bravo! The pianist, oh my god, we're kind of in love with him! He's just the way he is. He played naturally and the bassist he got us impress with his solo piece.

Yes, they do create their own song and they played it so as well. We had a break in the middle of the show and everyone was discussing about the fantastic band and all SC members took a short break too.

After that, they're back and they brought us back to the music sea, we flow relaxing in the sea, it's just so smooth. The band leader told us some jokes. Then there was the birthday wish for one of their members!

Time flies! They end their show with the song Love Never End. After the last song we had a photo session and also question and answer session. Oh yeah, they then sold their CD, with the price RM 40. Trust me, it's worth that price! We have had a chat session with the band and the band left KBU at 12 am!

Okay it's just end, let's just wait for the next show of the band!

donating blood is back from popular demands!

Remember there was a blood donation drive that took place in our college in March?

Well, it is BACK! It is so popular nowadays you hear everywhere on radio, tv that people are promoting for us to go donate blood!

Student Services Department (SSD) is organizing Blood Donation Drive on 15^th & 16^th August 2011 from 10am-4pm at Student Centre, Level 3 (Wing B).

It is critical that we (all who are healthy and eligible to donate blood) respond to the appeal for blood donation to ensure continuous supply of blood during this fasting month. Let us remember those in hospitals and help do our bit so that they may be treated, recover and live.

To those who are healthy, able and willing – we are looking forward to seeing you on 15^th or 16^th August at the Student Centre!

Student Council Installation 2011/2012

It is that time of the year again, to say goodbye to the Student Council board of 2010/2011 who has worked so hard throughout the year for the students and management of KBU International College, and welcome the new board members, who would be resuming this responsibility and help make college a more enjoyable and fun place.

All these took place at 1pm, at the Lecture Theatre, whereby we invited guest from the management as well to witness our special and important event. We started off with a speech from our principal, Dr. See.

Next, our Student Council Advisor, Ms. Anna, gave her speech.

Then, our current SC President, Mr. Dwayne Ong, gave us a meaningful talk about his experience as a President and a few words of advise to the new board.

Then, our current secretary, Mr. Jonathan Lam, delivered his report of events we had for the year 2010/2011.

We then presented the Certificate of appreciation to all the members, as a sign to thank them for all the hard work they have done, and to mark their stepping down as a Student Council Board member.

It is then the time everyone has been eagerly awaiting for, the announcement of the new Student Council Board 2011/2012.

. hat night, the whole student council body head over to kitchen creatures for a Appreciation Dinner and also a farewell to all the members who would be leaving. Everyone definitely had fun that night, chatting, joking, playing, and enjoying each others company.

Special thanks to all the members who would be leaving the council, all of you have done a tremendous job throughout the year, especially our former president, Dwayne Ong, for all the effort you have put into the council. We will ensure that the following year would be, if not better, as good as the one we had, and we will definitely not let you down!

July 2011 Orientation

Once again it’s our July Orientation day and student council’s members are here to rock the day! Our SC editorial team leader gave us a final briefing at 11am and when it’s 12.30 pm, the moment we are waiting for has finally come. The MPH (multipurpose hall) starts to fill up with more and more new faces. All the new students were invited to our registration counter and they were given their respective coloured tags .

When they were separated to their respective groups and after they had their ice-breaking session with their group leaders , they start to think about their group cheer. After 20 minutes, each group performed their own group cheer. Adding to that, each group were given their own song and they started the games. They were given a small piece of paper( like amazing race ) if all the group members are able to complete their task.

There were 2 more games which was the broken telephone & listen n dance game before all of them were gathered back into the hall.

They were then told another surprise , which is to act out the song that they we re given earlier on stage. . Every group did well and we can see that they had fun too.

It was time to announce the winning team. Everyone was tired but was anticipating the results.

And our winner for that day is pink group! Congratulations to our pink group which was led by Gigi Chua and Yong kar fai!!

After the orientation, it was registration for clubs & societies! Students were first introduced to the clubs before they went to sign up. That was the sum of the whole orientation day for JULY 2011.

The Event Of The Year - RAVE 2!

After months of waiting, RAVE 2 is finally over.....

It was definitely a night to remember for many, with great performances, music, and a whole lot of dancing. Tiring, but enjoyable.

Even before the clock struck 7pm, the crowd was already coming in, eager to start the party. Everyone one was in their handsome and pretty attire, ready to dance their way into the night.

We even have a red carpet event for people to take pictures!!

As soon as the clock strikes 8pm, RAVE 2 officially begun. The emcees worked their way around the dance floor to get the crowd hyped up and what a wonderful job they did ;)

The night was jam packed with performances. Our first performance was a band performance by Sound Check!!

Next up, is another powerful performance by Rabbit and Friends!

Fly Fm came to crash our party and played games with the guest. They even gave out goodie bags to the participants =D

But that was not the end of our performances. Our next performances was by Erastus with his powerful singing abilities followed by Kisho, a much talented beat boxer.

The emcees then announced the Lord & Lady RAVE, which are the dashing Jonathan Chuah En Fook and beautiful Natasha Elap!!! Congratulations to the both of you. It was then followed by the announcement of the Ipod Touch Winner, which was won by Contestant 0001!!

After that, the much awaited time of the night, it's time to hit the dance floor! Everyone put on their best moves and worked their way on the dance floor.

It was an awesome night to let go all that exam and assignment stress. Even after it ended, many were reluctant to leave and still hanged around the dance floor. But all good things must come to an end, and *sigh* including RAVE.... But not to fret, there will definitely be more to come in the future, so stay tuned!!

The RAVE Sketch

Hey everyone! Remember the sketch performed at the cafeteria on the 25th May 2011 (Wednesday)? Well, here are some pictures of the sketch and its story for those who have missed the sketch.

The story is about Lo, who is a student at KBU. He has a girlfriend named Brooke. Brooke is a girl who loves branded accessories while Lo is just an average, poor student.

One day, Brooke and Lo went shopping and walked into a shop selling branded bags. Her eyes sparkled as she saw them, and ask if her boyfriend, Lo, could buy a bag for her.

It was really expensive even after a HUGE discount, and Lo could not afford it. Brooke was displeased with the fact and stomped away. At that moment, Richie, a rich student who also studies at KBU, walks by with his group of friends.

Richie bought all the bags that Brooke demanded and at that instant, he stole Brooke’s heart away and Brooke dumped Lo for Richie. They told Lo that they would be attending the RAVE party together and would even be crowned Lord & Lady RAVE for the night. Lo, being uninformed of party events, immediately asked both of them what the RAVE is all about. They told him that it’s a party that will take place on 10th June 2011 at 7pm in KBU itself. To go to this event you would have to buy the RAVE ticket which costs only RM 30.

The problem is Low doesn’t even have enough money to buy for himself, what more for Brooke. So, Brooke left him for Richie.

Despaired, Lo did not not know what he could do. Suddenly, the Fairy RAVE FATHER appeared out of thin air and stood beside Low.

When Lo saw the Fairy, he immediately hugged the Fairy and begged him for help so that he could go to RAVE. With an instant magic power, the Fairy magically appeared 3 RAVE Tickets for Low.

Now he could go with not just 1 person, but 2 more other people! With another flick of the hands, the Fairy even did a makeover for Low.

On the night itself, Brooke & Richie were having fun dancing and enjoying the night. Suddenly the doors opened, and Lo appeared dressed all smart and ready to party with 2 ladies by his side.

Brooke saw and could not believe her eyes. She wanted to take Richie back but was declined. In the end, Richie and one of his date won the Lord & Lady RAVE and Brooke regretted for leaving Lo.

This comes to show that it doesn’t matter who or how you are, RAVE is a party for all and we invite you to come and join us for this spectacular night of fun and PARTY! Just come over and have fun, get to know new people, and dance your way into the night!! Tickets are just Rm 30, so remember to hunt down a Student Council member to get your tickets or you could also head over to the Student Service Department (SSD) to purchase them!

RAVE 2 All The Way!

We have recently started our RAVE 2 promotion at the cafeteria to promote about our RAVE 2 event to the students and staff of KBU. Student Council members dressed themselves up based on dress codes and went around college to attract students to come for the event. So when you see a bunch of students at the cafeteria with the same coloured outfit, you know who to look for to get your tickets!!

We got a pretty good response from the crowd and many were interested in the event, even students that are currently taking their exams are psyched about it!

For those of you who are still unsure what the event is all about, it’s a night for all KBU students and staff to come and unwind themselves from all their work stress with a night of PARTY! It’s also a great chance to mingle with your mates and to widen your circle of friends. KBU and non-KBU students are all invited to this spectacular event, so go on get your friends to come join us all for an unforgettable night!

Wondering what will be featured during the night? Don't worry, it'll definitely keep your adrenaline PUMPING!! To state a few, we have an awesome DJ, performances, and much more~~ Also, you could be the lucky winner to bring home an Ipod Touch 32GB!! How you ask? Stay tuned for updates to find out!

We would be opening a ticket booth at the cafeteria every Monday and Wednesday from 11am-1pm for you to purchase your tickets. Where East Meets North, South and West -KBU International Night 2011

The International Student Committee recently hosted the International Night in our college. Being a multi-cultural and extravagantly diverse college, an event that is great to bring together students from all walks of life for a night filled with fun, dance, music and just a tad bit of drama, hence the name ‘International’ Night.

It started off with the participants of the fashion show gathering in the Student Services Department to get ready for the fashion show. There was a voluntary make-up artist who dolled up all the participants, so credits to her for transforming them from pretty to prettier ;)

While the participants got dressed, all the guests slowly started arriving at the Multipurpose Hall where the event was being held. To show our appreciation to those who came early, goodie bags were handed out to the first 100 hundred guests; somewhat like an ‘earlybird’s special’.

The first agenda on the program was the cultural performances from the international students of KBU. Each performer blew the audience away with their talent and showmanship.

Between that, dinner was served to the guests as well as the participants. It was a buffet with a wide array of delicious food. The committee this the opportunity to pick out audience members who were remarkably dressed for the Best Dressed Award. This was really tough since there was no single person who didn’t look good that night.

After that was the Cultural Fashion Show. This was particularly interesting as the students (and lecturer!) came in couples portraying the traditional costume of people from different nationality. To name a few, there were traditional costumes of China, India, Maldives, Myanmar, Sarawak and Sudan. Each costume looked unique in its own way and all the models should be given lots of credit for that.

Once the performances and dinner was over, the dance floor was opened, transforming the main hall into our very own club. There were all sorts of music being played and it was evident that all KBU students liked their ‘beats fast and their bass down low’ ;)

That marked the end of the 2011 International Nite but the beginning of a whole new year to plan the next International Night which will definitely be double the entertainment!!

April Orientation 2011

A new year, a new beginning.....

Well, though it isn't a new year anymore, but it definitely is a new beginning for the new April intakes, a warm welcome to all of you!!!

Like previous years, the new intakes are welcomed to the college with an ice-breaking session that is loaded with a series of fun-filled games to get them settled in to begin a new chapter in their lives.

Getting to know each other and coming up with a group cheer, go-go teams!!

'Save the Egg' game. The group is required to brainstorm and think of how could they wrap the egg in a way so that it would not break when dropped. The materials given to them are straw, cellophane tape, news paper and of course, an egg. Unfortunately, non of the eggs got through =(

Then, time for the highlight of the event, the station game!! There are a total of 8 stations:

Push Ups

Charades

Count the Beans

Listen & Jump

Colour Code

Form Circle with Blindfold

Gargling Idol

Field Cleaning

Teams are required to visit all stations and complete the given task, once each task is completed, they will be given a puzzle piece which they will have to combine at the end of the game and guess the code on the puzzle. However, if they fail to complete a task, they will have to undergo a five minutes penalty before they are allowed to move on to the next round. The first team to complete all task and solve the puzzle wins the round.

After having to run around the college, it is now time to slow things down a little. Teams are now to compete each other in a game to test their reaction and cooperation. It is similar to pass the ball, but just in a verbal form. Groups are to shout their group colour, followed by the colour of the groups they would like to pass to. E.g. 'red bob red bob red bob to green bob!!' and green team would have to receive it by shouting back 'green bob green bob green bob to yellow bob!!' and on the game goes~~ The group that shouts the wrong chant or are unable to receive it would be eliminated.

Student Council Weekend Getaway to Port Dickson

When the workload starts piling and exams get closer, we pack our bags and go on an escapade!

The KBU Student Council recently organized a 2 day/1 night trip to Port Dickson to get away from all the mounting stress that comes with college life. We decided that we needed a break from reality and that is exactly what we got out of this trip. The trip not only consisted of Student Council members but also, ex-Student Council members and a number of non-members as well as our advisor, Mr.Ho.

It started off at 6.30am on a Saturday morning when we met up in college and headed to PD in a bus. After the early start, everyone expected to get some sleep on the bus but little did we know that the organisers had planned some surprises for us which turned out to be much more fun than just sleeping.

We were divided into 3 groups which we would stick to till the end of the trip and our first task was to come up with a group name and cheer. After much thinking, the 3 groups were Y², The ‘Rebel’utions and Rango. Once that was done, we had a singing game where each group had to sing 2 songs, one with all the members, the other a duet.

At about 10am, we reached our destination, Port Dickson Marina Resort and although the accommodation was not up to par, we concluded that it’s not the place that is important, but the company that makes a difference.

After about an hour of unpacking and resting, some of the members headed downstairs for more fun and games while the kitchen crew began on their lunch shift. We were divided into our 3 groups and played 5 games:

Balancing a ping-pong ball with a spoon in your mouth and passing it to each member without dropping the ball;
Filling a 1.5 litre bottle with water collected in a sponge, thrown by members on the other side of the room
‘Snowboarding’ across the room while balancing a tray of water-filled cups;
Walking in a straight line while balancing a balloon between each team member;
Picking up either an orange, an egg or a coin from a basin filled with water using only our mouths!

Hungry, and tired, we went back upstairs to be greeted by delicious food (Pasta Bolognese) cooked by the kitchen crew and mutton curry cooked by one of the members’ mom.

Once lunch was done, all of us headed back downstairs for water games:

Swim to the end of the pool and collect RM 2 worth of coins which were submerged under with each member only collecting ONE coin;
Pick a scrabble letter from the other end of the pool and form a 7-letter word

Only two games were organized by the leaders but after that all of us decided to play ‘monkey’ and it was amazingly fun for everyone!

Next we had the much awaited barbeque session at the barbeque pit/playground of the resort. We had a variety of food including a salad to top it off as a healthy meal. This was a more relaxing session as all members just unwound and bonded with each other.

With stomachs filled and a jolly heart, we headed off for our next game, ‘Pass the Parcel’. This game included all those who attended the trip and turned out to be a laughter-filled game. We had everyone doing all sorts of ridiculous tasks as they had to follow the instructions given on a piece of paper.

Once the fun part was done, we moved on to a more serious session, the ‘Post Mortem’, where all the members sat in a circle and discussed about the problems faced in the council. We had much constructive criticism from one another as many voiced out their opinions and disagreements in the council. The ‘post mortem’ was a very productive session as all of us realised our mistakes and accepted that it is our responsibility to correct them in order to improve the Student Council. The session lasted a couple of hours but ended with everyone leaving with a light-heart after being able to open up and share our feelings.

Despite the late night, everyone woke up pretty early and enjoyed breakfast of tuna and egg sandwiches prepared by the kitchen crew. After breakfast, we checked-out of the resort and headed to the beach for a relaxing two hours. Nothing like a good stroll at the beach with the wind blowing in your hair and sand under your feet to make you forget all your worries! Some of us even took a dip in the water as it was a really, REALLY hot day.

Finally, we headed home on the bus, tired but contented! As points were taken for each game played, the overall winning group was announced and it turned out to be non other than Rango!!! The group leader was presented with a gift box which consisted of sweets which he later offered to everyone because, well, for us, everyone is winner.

Ever dreamed of becoming a super hero and save lives just like in movies? Well, though we may not be super heroes with super powers, but we could still save a life, or maybe many, just by donating blood!!

Did You Know?

That adults have around 10 pints of blood in their body. 1 pint is given during a donation.
That 1 pint of blood can save up to 3 lives.
That blood cannot be manufactured; it can only come from volunteer donors.
That platelets, critical for cancer patients, have a shelf life of only 5 days.
That premature infants need blood and platelets.
That type O- is often used in cases where the patient is admitted in an unconscious state, or where the blood type of the person is not known and the patient cannot wait till the blood test results come out.

Our College would be having a blood donation campaign this coming march and you are all welcomed to participate! Here are the details:

Hello! It's a new year and a new begining. To all the seniors of KBU , welcome back everyone.
To all who just joined KBU, welcome to KBU!

to welcome all new KBU students, they Student Council organize orientation programme for them to break the ice and make new friends.

for this year's January intake, the orientation programme was held at Lecture Theater 1, Level 7.

The new students this intake were really outgoing and weren't shy with each other. First they were registered when they came in the room. Then they were split to 4 groups of name Tarzan, Scooby Doo, Barbie & Pooh.

In their smaller groups, they gathered together and introduce themselves to their group members.

after breaking the ice among each other, they were then told to create a mascot out of newspaper and masking tape. It was creativity at its work. These were the mascots

They were given a surprise ,when the mascots were told to do a runway walk to parade their group's masterpiece. As the mascots themself weren't shy, they actually had a good time doing the catwalk !! some even fooling with each other.

Lastly ,every group were given a movie example : Twilight, they were suppose to pass the message from one end to another end by only acting it out and the last person is suppose to guess what the movie is.. Everyone had a good time laughing as along the way, the message is passed wrongly and the outcome turned out different!

After all the fun, other clubs in KBU then introduced themselves in letting students know what are the available clubs there are in KBU that they could join.

Charity Christmas Celebration

17th December 2010, a memorable day for 87 children.

Our college has organized it's first ever charity Christmas event for the children of 3 different orphanages. On this special day, students, lecturers and staff of KBU worked hand in hand to make this event a joyous and wonderful one for these kids, preparing numerous activities and games, ensuring that they would all leave with a smile on their faces.

As soon as the children arrived, they were brought to the registration counter to get their hands stamp with cute little Christmas icons designed by the lecturers of the School of Design. After that, they were then brought to get their face painted as well as a photography session, whereby all the children had an individual shot of themselves that would later be printed out and given to them at the end of the day.

Lunch Time!! The much awaited time of the day, and guess what's on the menu? Happy Meal!!! Just who wouldn't love Happy Meal. The kids were lead to the cafeteria to enjoy their sumptuous burger and the little toy that came in the set.

After their meal, they were then separated into 2 groups, one doing origami, the other doing hand painting. They were thought how to make cranes during the origami session, and as for the hand painting, we prepared 2 canvases for them to stamp their little hands and fingers onto it to create a painting that was to be presented to our Principal, Dr. See, as a token of appreciation.

It was then time for games. The game was pretty simple, they were to scrunch newspaper into balls and throw them into a box. But as kids love to throw things, it went a little out of hand when the children just couldn't stop throwing newspapers when the game ended. But nonetheless, it was delightful to know that the kids were having fun.

Time for an ice-cream break!! The kids were each given an ice-cream to be enjoyed at the cafeteria. After all was done, they were then brought back to the lobby for the final few agendas of the day.

We had a carolling session by the Christian Fellowship and a gift session as well. Each child was given a present by non other than our very own Santa Claus! They were also given a goodie bag each to be brought home with them.

It was indeed a joyous and memorable day not only for the children, but also for all those who has participated for the event. A special thanks to the Rotaract Club, Interior Architecture and Design Club, Graphic Design Club, Christian Fellowship, Lecturers, Staff of KBU, and the members of the Student Council for making this event a successful one and bringing smiles into the faces of these children.

There will be lots of fun and exciting activities for these children.

The Graphics Design Club, Interior Architecture & Design Club, Rotaract Club, Christian Fellowship and Student Council are all combining efforts to make this event successful. To make this event meaningful for these orphanage children as well as the entire KBU community, we would like to invite you to join us and participate in this joyous occasion. KBU 20th Anniversary Gala & Prom Night

A GLORIUS NIGHT INDEED!

KBU collaborated their 20th year anniversary with Prom Night at One World Hotel, Bandar Utama.

The event kicked off with speeches from Dato Haji Omar Bin Abdul Rahman;Deputy Secretary General,Division of Management, Ministry of Higher Education, Tan Sri Dato Teo Soo Cheng; KBU's chairman and Dato Teo Chiang Liang; Chief Exec. of KBU. They were all congratulating KBU on their progress and success in the past 20 years.

On that night , staffs who have serviced for more than 10 years were awarded the long service staff award for their services to KBU throughout those years. Since this event is a collaboration between the staff and the students, there were performances , crowning of the 1st MISS KBU,
and prom being held all in 1 night. It was a chance for students and staffs to socialize and celebrate the achievement of what KBU has offered for the past 20 years.

Emcees for that night included staff from KBU for the Gala session of the night, 2 students, Danny Siah and Janice Chan for the Prom side of the night.

Dinner was a rather lavish one, as everyone was served with 8 rounds of different Chinese cuisine.
A Solo Singing performance was performed by Chen Su Ee, a student of KBU for foundation in arts & design which kept the audience mesmerized with her sweet vocals.

Then ,Dwayne Ong, President of the Student Council gave a short opening announcing that the MISS KBU pageant event will be starting. All 9 contestants went up on stage awaiting their results on who will make it to the top 5 of this event. As the top 5 was announced, all 5 of them braced the judges for a final round of question and answer session to determine who will finally be the winner of the 1st ever Miss KBU 2010.

Judges for that night's Question & Answer session was Miss Adelaine Chin; Miss Malaysia Universe 2007 & Miss Vivien of Image Inc.

Clothings were sponsored by FOREVER 21 & Make up done by Image. Inc.

In the meantime, subsidiary tittles for this competition, like Miss FOREVER 21, Miss People's Choice, Miss Photogenic and Miss Talented were awarded to their respective winners.

In between ,a magic trick performance was done by Mr. Cody Tan.

After an intense wait, the winner was finally known. The crown went to Miss Natasha Tung Yan Chi, of Ausmat course.

After that, there was a lucky draw session to get the crowd more into the mood of the night.

To rap up the event, a dance floor session was opened to all. It started with a beatbox by Malaysian renowned Kisho. He manage to get the students all fired up, dancing and clapping to the beat. Then the crowd moved on to a slower song performed by KBU's very own band.
Guys took their chances to invite their beautiful ladies for a dance.
After those slow song, it was time to hype the crowd up again, this time party style!

The crowd dance the night away..till around 11 something then the event ended.

It was a night to be remembered for all who came.

We greatly thank all student council members for their great effort in helping to put this event together and making it a success

Clinique Workshop

The Clinique Team made their stop at our college on Monday, and boy were the girls glad that they did so. But not only were the girls interested, so were the guys!!

All the anticipating girls (and guys, you can see their little heads popping out from the back)

They thought the participants basic skin care routine and gave them a crash course on how to apply make up. The speakers were excellent in catching everyone's attention as they knew how to relate to them and kept their talk spontaneous.

Speaker for the make up session, he has done make up for many artist before, also used to work for known make up lines such as M.A.C, Bobbi Brown, and is now working for Clinique!!

Showing the participants how to apply make up and techniques to achieve that sophisticated yet simple look

Here are a few skin care routine and make up tips that were thought on the day:

everyone should have at least a 3 step routine everyday: cleanse, tone, moisturise
do not apply moisturisers around your eyes, get a proper eye cream
remember to exfoliate, your skin won't absorb your cream with all the dead skin cells lingering on it
always use a make up remover if you're those who uses sunblock everyday
choose your foundation by testing it on your jaw line to see if it matches both your neck and face tone
apply blusher from the apples of your cheek all the way back to your ears

Really informative workshop, pretty sure that everyone has benefited from it. But that wasn't the only things the participants brought home. At the end of the workshop, each person were given a goodie bag which consist of a Clinique High Impact Curling Mascara and a Clinique Turnaround Concentrate Visible Skin Renewer.

Today was the prize giveaway day.

2nd day of Grand Opening for KBU's 20th yr Gala Night & Prom 2010

Talents! talents! This is what everyone have been anticipating to see! Everyone wants to see what are the MISS KBU contestants gonna perform? are they gonna dance? will there be singing?
By 11.30 crowd already started to gather at the lobby. As usual , the Prom ticket booth counter is set up with a LCD TV projecting the number of seats left unsold & the number of seats that are sold.

Annother thing that got the crowd looking around was the little stalls that FACES magazine set up at the lobby for the students to have a fun time taking pictures with it. It looked really doll house brought to life size kind of stall and many students were seen having a fun time posing in their "toilet" / "mirror frame" / concierge and few more...

at 12.30pm, the crowd finally settled down as the emcee announce that the talent showcase was about to start.
This time, we had judges from FACES magazine( Miss Elaine), School of Design ( Miss Curtney) and Head of Student Service Dept( Miss Anna)
.
Many of the girls did dances but each were different.

There were contemporary dance, iranian traditional dance, cheer dance, ballroom dance & a educational salsa dance which was actually part of a performance in one of the contestant's educational talk on art of seduction.

One contestant did a martial art performance. She made a performance on how to do self defence and at the same time break 6 pieces of hard wood with her powerful kicks! I guess that really stunned the crowd, i bet many people jaw's dropped when they saw a girl breaking wood planks with her feet!

1st Day of Grand Opening

The long awaited Grand Opening has finally LAUNCHED!!!
It was launched officially by our principal Dr.See , Miss Anna( Head of Student Service Dept.)Mr. Liew & Dwayne Ong ( President of Student Council)

The Prom ticket booth were set up for students to purchase the early bird price of prom tickets ( RM100)
Image Inc. also set up their booth for everyone to do a FREE body fat check

Vicknesh was the emcee for the 3 days grand opening event.

The opening started of with a bang! The Miss KBU contestants did 2 fashions shows with outfits sponsored by FOREVER 21. All hairstyle & make up was well done by Image Inc. company. The 8 Miss KBU contestants looked stunning and the just WOW the crowd away.
The fashion show wasn't just only to show FOREVER 21's fashion but also to judge the MISS KBU contestants on their catwalk, pose & their ability to answer questions in a short given time. The 4 main judges for the fashion show were

After the first round of fashion show, Ezreena Yahya and Erastus got the whole crowd hyped up with 2 songs their singing was fantastic . They did a number on "Nothing On You"by B.O.B & Bruno Mars

After the crowd were all hyped up, the second round of fashion show by FOREVER 21 began.

The crowd went wild seeing these beautiful ladies walking down the stairs with their elegant garments and graceful posture. Everyone supported their favorite contestants and cheered at the top of their lungs!!

Besides that, there were also beatbox performance by Malaysian Beatboxer Khisho. Great performance!! With great voice and talents like that, they were no doubt adored by the crowd!
After all the beatbox showcase that got the crowd all clapping along and standing up, including the Principal , Dr.See!
The Miss KBU contestants walked down the stairs one last time. This time they were dressed in their traditional outfits!
It was amazing to see all those different unique traditional outfits of each contestants.

Then all 8 of the contestants lined up by the stairs to answer a question thrown by the emcee. They were all given 3 minutes to think and then tell the crowd their answer and the reason they chose that particular answer. The question that was thrown to the contestants was a rather simple one, but it made them think really hard.
The question was " If you had to choose between a choice of career or family, which would you choose ? and why"

All 8 of them answered well with each having a very strong reason to support their answer that they choose. The judges then gave comment to each of the contestants after the whole event based on their Q & A session and their fashion show.
It was a real pagent-like event for the KBU students. It was one of a kind in KBU and everyone had an experience of a lifetime on that day.

It was a night to remember as everyone get to see MISS KBU contestants out in public and also socialize with them.

it started off with the registration of guests .

The Emcees John & Ben kick start the event with their hyperness and jokes it made the crowd feel like they were more into the event.
The President of Student Council ( Dwayne Ong) was also invited up to the stage to welcome everyone in the house!
After Dwayne's opening, the music was played, and the models came out 1 by one doing a catwalk.

Besides the catwalk, each Miss KBU contestant was also asked to give a brief introduction about themselves, so as to let the audiences know more about them

After the introduction, the MISS KBU contestants all took a moment's break. In the meantime, the emcees, came down the stage and started asking around the audience to whom was their favourite MISS KBU contestant

Finally, the MISS KBU contestants took the stage 1 last time , this time together to have a group shot.
And then it was partaaay time for all!

6 Miss KBU contestants, Cayenne Lim, Cheryl Wee, Charmaine Chen, Tala Behroozi, Gilda Nabipour, Dameli Kautkanova, modelled for Che Che New New York handbags introducing their latest collections. It was a great experience for the models as they were given free hair and make up treatments + free lessons on how to walk the catwalk style +free lunch!
A big Thanks to Che Che event manager for helping the models learn their moves and perfect their modeling for that day. THANK YOU!

The event went on smoothl. It was very professional for the Student Council members Kaartig & Angus to make sure their Miss KBU contestants were always on time for make up, hair styling, lunch and rehearsal.

The show was held in the Che Che New York boutique itself in Midvalley Megamall. And boy it drew a lot of crowd's attention and eyes. =)

The models in total modelled 2 bags each and at the end gave a crowd a pleasant remembrance by doing a FLYING KISS to the audience. Although it was a short half an hour handbag showcase, it definitely drew a lot of customers after that into CHE CHE NEW YORK boutique.

Great success student council members. This is a stepping stone to something bigger in the future! Keep it up!

This is a day to remember indeed. An opening ceremony was held at the

Function Room ( Level 3) at 11am- 12pm for all participants and guest to witness the opening of the MiSS KBU competition.

It was to welcome the participants and also give a chance for every KBU students to have a glimpse of who will be THE NEXT KBU .

As mentioned on Facebook, that today is also the 2nd round of auditions for the Miss KBU's. This is because, we have received on the sponsors side for this event ,that they would like to see more than 10 contestants to participate. We thank the previous TOP 10 contestants who came today again and compete in another round. However this is a Semi Final Round. whereby a total of 17 contestants who registered, 12 were selected.

It was a rather formal event. Speech by Dwayne Ong, the president of Student Council was given to open the event. >>>

Then Miss Malaysia Universe 2007, Miss Adelaine Chin gave a short speech & advice to the contestants on what a pageant competition is like. >>>>>.

Moving on, everyone had a break time of 1 hour from 12pm- 1pm. Then it was time for the critical moment. INTERVIEW TIME!

The Judges consist of Miss Shafinas , Miss Husna , Miss Malaysia Universe 2007 ; Adelaine Chin, Dwayne Ong, & Pearl Liang

every contestants were asked to do a catwalk before they are sitted to answer a few questions to test their capability in communicating with the audiences, their knowledge and poise.

The results was also announced on the same day.

Based on the response from the college, the Student Council has decided to have another round of recruitment for all KBU girls.

Those who wish to participate in this 2nd round of selection for Miss KBU pageant are required to attend a briefing tomorrow (26th August 2010). Details are as follow:

cupcakes that comes with songs & personal message

Firstly, the student council would like to apologize for the advertisement of promosing a butterfly designed cupcake & a ribbon designed cupcake . As in the end it did not turned out to be as promised due to time constraint. We truly apologize for that.

But the event still proceeded well enough to grab the crowd's attention about prom is coming on the 22th Octorber 2010. Remember this date y' all ;)

the cupcakes were made by the student council members themselves! How was it? sweet?

there are more sweetness to come if you attend prom this year !

there were 725 cupcakes being made, before the SALES DAY ( 12-14th July) and
there were already 425 reservations of cupcakes!

still Rm2 for 1, but the student council also threw in
an offer of Buy 4 free 1 to get more of you all to buy....

however many of you all who reserved & paid for your cupcakes forgotten to collect it

a theme that can combine both the KBU 20th anniversary gala dinner & prom night...

A wisdom to share & keep in mind:

How to make your company great, it’s just the same as how to make your club, your council great. Because they are the same, which is: there are peoples behind that running it, not alien. We all want to be proud of the school we go to, we all want to be proud of the clubs we joined; we all want to be proud of the company we work for.

It enhance our reputation, make us looks great, feels great and give us access to meet great person.

Clubs, school, company with enchanting reputation is one of the factor that making majority peoples wanted to join and wanted to work for them. If you got the chance to join them, you’re probably joining them for what they can do for you. But one thing, not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to work for the outfit that is currently favored.

Not everyone that in the council is an idiot. Ask yourself, what are you personally going to do to make your council an awesome one.

Start by talking it up. Begin thinking and behaving like a winner. It will stop the rot. It will temporary halt the negative thought and a defeatist attitude.

Please, if you find people talking it down or being pessimist, take issue with them, tell others about them. If it persists, get them out of your family. Because we got no time to change their thought.

Then people will soon get the idea.

Don’t’ expect the senior to lead you the way. They are just too busy running their own plan. Start setting your own goal now!

You, yourself decide to make your own family great or at least tell yourself you are going to make a difference.

Just please realize that the family reputation are just build on one or two person’s victory. Aim to be that person.

Just want to let you know that, you’re on your own. JUST DO IT WITH PASSION. -Angus-

if they make mistakes, we should tell them its ok, and that it's a stepping stone to learn & improve while teaching them the proper way to improve.

A warm welcome to the new students of KBU International college!!!

Once again, the student council has organized the ice-breaking session for the new intakes of the college, allowing them to feel welcomed with a day of fun-filled games.

Moving on to the first game, which is the Mascot Design!! Groups are required to dress their mascot up using only the materials given, which are newspapers and tape.

The next session is a series of 3 games, namely Balloon Smash, Happy Feet and Flour and Ping Pong. The groups are to compete in a race to be the first to complete all 3.

After that, we headed down memory lane and played a game that we are all familiar with during our childhood years, Musical Chair!! And it was a battle between Student Council members and the new students.

When the games were over, it was time to count the score, Angus style.
